Sweet BBQ Chicken Kabobs

These delicious Chicken Kabobs turned out wonderful! We made them for a barbecue we had with our close friends. Everyone loved them. I am such a big fan of recipes that are great tasting and healthy for you too! I really like how the orange juice brings out a sweetness to the barbecue sauce. Yummo!

SWEET BBQ CHICKEN KABOBS
Recipe By: The Sisters Cafe

  • 1 pound (3-4) boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce
  • 6 Tablespoons Frozen Orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 2 cups fresh Pineapple chunks, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 each, Red, Green, Yellow Bell peppers, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 8-10 wooden skewers

Directions:  Start by placing your wooden skewers into a large dish/ bowl of water to soak in while getting other ingredients ready. ( They can start on fire if you grill them dry! )
Heat grill to medium-high heat. Mix together the barbecue sauce and orange juice concentrate in a small bowl. Set aside.
Thread chicken alternately with the pineapple and peppers onto wooden skewers.
Brush the kabobs with the barbecue sauce mixture. Place them on the grill and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning throughout cooking process. Brush kabobs with all the remaining barbecue sauce mixture while they are grilling. ( Makes about 8-10 Kabobs)

How sad! You're right, sometimes it feels like when it rains, it pours. I'm glad everyone got dinner eventually. At least it was a good meal when you all ate!

What a crazy day you guys had! I can remember years ago we had a couple of experiences where we ran out of gas during grilling...and it was always when we had guests! Now we have a batural gas grill so it is hooked up to the gas line from the house and we never have to worry about that happening again :)
The kabobs look great! I make that same thing but I've never added the orange juice to the BBQ sauce (and it's Sweet Baby Rays in this house too!). I'm going to add the OJ next time. Thanks for sharing!

Thank goodness grilling season is upon us again! Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be having very many kebabs this summer. My husband is always in charge of grilling, and the last time we had kebabs, they took forever. I have no idea why. But he wasn't impressed and told me, "I don't think kebabs are my thing." LOL! I guess we'll stick to kebabs of vegetables.

I can't wait for grilling weather! These look delicious- I'll make sure the gas bottle is full before I start though. :)

We always cook our Thanksgiving turkey on the BBQ grill...of course, the year we have 25 people over is the year we got an empty from the store...AGH!
These look so very, very yummy! I bet the OJ mixed with the BBQ sauce is A-MAZING!

These sound delicious. You're recipe reminded me of this other recipe lol and but it has also inspired me to weave the two recipes together. I'm gonna have to go shopping on my next day off and do some experimenting. Thanks for the great recipe.

The sauce was amazing! This came out great and my husband raved about this dish. He never raves. He noticed the sauce and loved the sweetness paired with the pineapple. I agree. Simple but wonderful flavors. Thank you for another great recipe!
